The Weekly Quickie: Nerd Fest, Mejibray, SPYAIR, Moi dix Mois

It sure seems like I talk about ViViD a lot lately, but, guess what.  I'm doing it again!  ViViD announced early this week that they will be headlining Nerd Fest in Orlando, Florida.  Nerd Fest is a music-centered, four-day nerd party featuring acts such as Earthbound Papas, Critical Hit, Steam Powered Giraffe and MC Frontalot.  It will take place August 7-11 at Orlando Airport Marriot.  See their homepage for details on passes and scheduling.  There's also about a 98% chance I'll be there, so if you see me, say hi!

Add one to the injured list.  Mejibray recently announced they will have to postpone four shows on their 3rd Anniversary One-Man tour due to an injury to their drummer, Meto.  There aren't many details concerning the injury, only that it was a falling accident and he broke a bone.  No cancellations as of yet, but keep an eye on their homepage for date changes and ticket payback information.

Speaking of injuries, SPYAIR recently announced they will be canceling their 2014 Summer Tour, Imagination, due to vocalist IKE's throat condition.  IKE suffers from vocal chord polyps and inflammation and was hoping to recover in time for the tour, but his condition seems to only be worsening.  Hopefully after a nice long rest, he'll be able to get back in the game.  Keep an eye on their homepage for further developments.

And I'll end this one with moment of silence for Moi dix Mois guitarist, K, who past away this week.  He was a tremendous influence on the Visual Kei community and will be greatly missed.

And that's the Quickie.
