The Weekly Quickie: SCREW, ViViD, SCANDAL, MEJIBRAY, The Black Swan, ALSDEAD, The Kiddie, the:Ø, The 3rd Birthday, MUCC, Anisong World Tour, LiSA, X-Japan

 I'm baaaaaaaaack!  And, boy do we have a lot to catch up on.  So, let's get to it, shall we?


SCREW has announced a hand full of new releases for the upcoming year. Their tour final held on December 28 at AiiA Theatre will be released as a DVD. This was their final performance with all five members. No release date yet, but I’m sure you guys want it. The group will continue on with four members with the release of a mini-album titled, Konsui on April 22, followed by a second mini-album, Kakusei, sometime in August.



ViViD has announced their first Best album, ViViD the BEST, on February 25. The album will release in three types.


Girl group SCANDAL will be releasing a special edition their 6th album, HELLO WORLD, followed up by a world tour starting January 15. The tour will take them all over and includes a couple of US headlining dates, so make sure to check their homepage for details. The special release will include two exclusive bonus tracks not available on the original Japanese version, so make sure to pick it up.


Mejibray has once again announced three months of consecutive releases. The first is 2nd LIVE DVD "THE THEATRICAL SHOW '鳥ハ泳ギ方ヲ知ラズ溺レ亡骸 / Tori wa Oyogikata o Shirazu Obore Nakigara' at Shibuya Public Hall" on March 4. The DVD will contail 22 songs from the live performance and run you 5000yen. This is followed by two singles, Nepenthes on April 1 and Eiki on May 6. And, just to round things out, they’ll be starting their 4th anniversary live tour, Doku, on May 11 at Ikebukuro EDGE.


Announced at their one man on January 4, The Black Swan will be releasing their second single, Shinai to izon, sono kanshoku, on March 11, followed by their 1st Anniversary one-man, "We are Very Fuckin' Shit Noodle, but..." on June 12 at Takadanobaba AREA.  They also debuted their new look and the preview for the PV for Ushinai which is stunning.  Check it out.


Also on March 11 is ALSDEADS new single, Inazuma.  The single will release in two types, the limited edition including a DVD with the PV for the title track and making of.  Their ohp has already been updated with their new look and it is slick, so go check it out.


The Kiddie announced at their live on December 25 they they will be disbanding as of March 31. Judging by their comments on their OHP, it appears they feel as if they have gone as far as they can go together and have decided to pursue new things. Their final live will be held at ZEPP Tokyo on March 31.


the:Ø announced their breakup just this week, effective after their final live at ASH Osaka on January 23. The breakup coincides with the release of their mini-album Cold the:Øry. This young band has already seen it’s share of issues and so has ultimately decided to call it quits.


Last month, we reported on the disappearance of the 3rd Birthday guitarist, Folie. Still no word on his wherabouts, but news has come down from the company that he has offically been fired, leaving the 3rd Birthday as a three member group.


MUCC will be touring Europe starting in May of this year. The tour will consist of 8 concerts and includes five countries: Russia, England, France, Germany and Poland.


LANTIS Festival Las Vegas has announced a special appearance by virtual pop star, Hatsune Miku. The festival takes place January 15 and 16 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and includes performances by JAM Project / Yoko Ishida / YOUSEI TEIKOKU / ChouCho / Faylan / Sayaka Sasaki / bamboo. The festival kicks off the 2015 ANISONG world tour celebrating Lantis’ 15th anniversary


Jpop star LiSA will be appearing at Anime Boston April 3-4.  LiSA is well known for her music in anime, such as Angel Beats!, Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online and The Irregular High School.  Registration is going on now and is $55 until February 1.


Online metal magazine, LoudWire is holding yet another "Most Devoted Fans" contest and guess who's in the running.  None other than visual kei veterans, X-Japan!  They are already kicking ass with 53% of the vote, but let's make it a landslide, shall we?  You can vote once an hour until February 3, so get friendly with that refresh button.
